“STRENGTHENING NETWORK FOR EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH”

An international conference dedicated to the achievements of the Erasmus Plus project "Strengthening the Network for Education, Research and Innovation in the field of environmental and occupational Health in Asia" / TUTORIAL (2016-2021) is being held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan by the participating countries. The conference is initiated by the International Higher School of Medicine with the active support and participation of the National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ programme in Kyrgyzstan. The consortium of the project TUTORIAL, includes more than 50 professional members from 15 institutions from the following 8 countries which during 2 days of the conference will discuss the results and achievements of the project goals:

THE INTERNATIONAL  DAYS  IN  KYRGYZSTAN

March 30-31, 2021 Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Within the framework of the TUTORIAL project, “International Days in Kyrgyzstan” dedicated to Strengthening the Education Network, Research and Innovation in the field of environmental health, occupational health, and occupational diseases, the international conference was conducted on March 30-31, 2021 at the conference hall of the International School of Medicine (IHSM).
The event was opened by the Rector of IHSM - Stalbek Akhunbaev, and President of the International University of Kyrgyzstan - Arsen Aidaraliev.
The goals and achievements of the TUTORIAL project in the countries of Central Asia during the period of the project were introduced by the coordinator of the educational project of the European Union, Professor of the University of Milan, Italy - Claudio Colosio, and the Coordinator of the project for Central Asia, Head of the Department of Public Health - Kenesh Jusupov (IHSM).
Within the framework of the event, training was held on Innovative educational tools for e-learning, in the field of occupational health, public health, and the environment; ways of moving from formal learning to e-learning; e-learning scenarios; the principles of environmental health; ways of improving the diagnosis, reporting, and prevention of occupational diseases; the specifics of environmental and occupational health in Asia.
The training was conducted by the following professors and scientists from leading European specialized universities for the faculty members of Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, Osh State University, and ISM.The training format provided a mixed communication mode – online and offline.

On January 27 there was conducting of yhe meeting of the representstives of the DERECKA working group and the staff of the public health department. Agenda of the meeting was development of new and updating of existing PhD modules. Participants of the meeting discussed about potential peer-reviewers for developing modules and curriculum.

 Monitoring of the TUTORIAL project

The National Office of Erasmus plus monitored the TUTORIAL project on November 26, 2020. Participants of the project attended the meeting. The Rector of the International Higher School of Medicine expressed his gratitude to  the representatives of Erasmus office for the support and opportunity to participate. He noted the importance of the project in the development of International Higher School of Medicine. He presented the International Higher School of Medicine strategy and the impact of the project at all levels.
The Project Coordinator Central Asia Kenesh Dzhusupov, presented a presentation that included a sustainability strategy for the project, its dissemination. Representatives of the Erasmus office highly appreciated the work of the project team.

 Intensive English Language Course

In the frame of the Erasmus Plus project «STrengthening Network for EdUcaTiOn, Research and Innovation in Environmental HeALth in Asia» / TUTORIAL   IHSM was succesfully conducting an Intensive English language course for the administrative staff and teacher of the IHSM. Course was training  more than twenty members. The Intensive English language course  had been held since  Febrary, 2017.  Cource lasted four month up to  June 2017. The course was conducting the advanced group (B 2 on the European scale of foreing language proficiency, Upper – Intermediate Level) and the beginning group ( A 2 on the European scale of foreing language proficiency, Elementary Level). At the end of English courses all particpants will have online oral exams through SKYPE with prof Winter Beatty. She is independent examinator, who has had no earlier relationship with students or project consortia.

Summer School «Marco Polo»

In the frame of the Erasmus Plus TUTORIAL project, a summer school for university teachers started to take place at the Resort Center «Marco Polo» from jule 1-13, 2018. The purpose of the summer school is to train Central — Asia and Indian university teachers and researchers in innovative teaching (blendSummer School «Marco Polo»ed learning and research — based learning) and research skills, to enhance their research potentials in the domains of Environmental and Occupational Health and Epidemiology.
International professors and researchers from University of Milano (Italy), University of Tartu (Estonia), Technical University Berlin (Germany) and Foundation for Learning and Development in Occupational Health (Netherlands) will teach for a two week period at the Issyk — Kul on issues indicated as priority by the survey conducted in the first trimester of 2018.

TUTORIAL Summer Schools 2017

As part  of the TUTORIAL project, the three-week summer school for 24 teachers and researchers of Central Asian and Indian medical universities was organized by EU universities during 2-21 July, 2017.
The first week was organized by the International Center for Rural Health of University of Milan (Prof. Claudio Colosio) on Occupational Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and innovative teaching and learning methods.
The program of the second week was dedicated to Public Health and Environmental Health and provided by the team of Prof. Hans Orru at the University of Tartu, Estonia.
The third week was devoted to Innovative teaching and learning methods (blended learning) and organized by the team of Dr. Elena Eyngron at the Technical University Berlin. All three weeks programs were very intensive and innovative.The following staff of the International Higher School of Medicine were selected through competition to attend the summer school: Dr. Kenesh Dzhusupov, Dr. Baktygul Imankulova, Dr. Zhyldyz Kurzhunbaeva and Mr. Uran Musaev.
